'Brora: Its History and Evolution....and its Quirks!'

Talk by Nick Lindsay

In an unavoidable change to its advertised programme, NickLindsay will take the audience on a virtual tour of the village, detailing its fascinating history and illuminating its, sometimes sad, stories and revealing its humourous side in a series of oddities and quirks. There will also be a special guest appearance by an overseas visitor, whose ancestor provided a long forgotten, but a quite sensational story to add to the collection.

Nick has been researching the local history of the area for over 20 years, the last 16 years of which he has been Chairman of Clyne Heritage Society, and has amassed a wealth of stories, facts and photographs of the village and village life in the 200 years of Brora's existence.

The event will be held in the usual place, the Community Centre lounge at the rear of Brora Primary School in Johnstone Place, Brora. The meeting is open to all and there will be a raffle (donations always welcome). Refreshments and admission are free. Anyone wishing to join the Society will be made most welcome. Information on the Society's activities can be found on its website: www.clyneheritage.com or on its Facebook and Twitter pages.
