Workshop: Community Heritage Research Workshop [Helmsdale]

04 June 2019, Starts: 10:30, Ends: 16:00

Community Heritage Research Workshop

Timespan Museum, Helmsdale. Organised by Scottish Community Heritage Alliance

If you are involved with heritage in your local community in any way then this is for you! Join us for a discussion day about Scottish Community Heritage.

The newly-formed Scottish Community Heritage Alliance (SCHA) was set up last year to help bring about positive change for community heritage in Scotland.

Meanwhile the University of St Andrews, the National Library of Scotland and Ergadia Heritage have teamed together to organise a series of 12 community heritage research workshops around Scotland, funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

We will be talking about networks, sharing ideas about how a new national network might look, and what it could do for community heritage.

The day will be informal, and follow a simple format with an opening speaker followed by discussion workshops. It will run from 10.30am - 4pm.

It is free to attend, however it is very important that you let us know if you have to cancel, as places are limited. Please note that everyone has to book individually (no block tickets).

Please bring your own lunch, or there is the option of pre-booking a packed lunch for £6.60. Not providing lunches has enabled us to reach more communities, but you will get free tea and biscuits.

Booking is now open here:  bit.ly/CHSbooking

and you can find out more about the project and keep with the blog here: bit.ly/communityheritagescotland

A full programme for each of the discussion days will be circulated nearer the time.
