Guided visit to Dun da Lamh hill fort [Badenoch]

19 September 2021, Starts: 14:00, Ends: 17:00

A guided walk to the Pictish hillfort of Dun da Lamh (optional e-bikes available), along with an opportunity to create your own journal in the Badenoch The Storylands app. Cost £4 or £10 with e-bike hire.

The four-mile route climbs about 650 feet and is steeper nearer the summit of Dun da Lamh, where caution is needed. The summit rewards you with views over Spey Dam towards the Corrieyairick Pass, and down the Spey Valley towards Laggan and beyond, showing the prominent position the hill fort held.

This route is graded as STRENUOUS and is largely on forest tracks, but the final section is rougher – sturdy footwear is essential.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are sufficiently fit and healthy to take part in this Strenuous graded walk / e-bike ride (up to 3hrs in length, sections of steep gradient or difficult terrain).

You will need to use your own transport to the meeting place for this event. There is free parking at Laggan Wolftrax Mountain Biking Trail Centre.

Coffee and cakes are available from Wolftrax cafe, open from 10 to 5pm. Toilet facilities also available.

The tour starts from Laggan Wolftrax at 2pm, please arrive 10 mins early.

This tour is not suitable for disabled access, dogs are welcome if kept on lead.

Pre-booking via eventbrite  is essential.
