Part of Ullapool Museum's commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the Sailing of The Hector from Lochbroom to Nova Scotia, Ullapool Museum, looking to deconstruct the stories surrounding the mass migration of people to Canada. 

The last event in our series brings together a range of speakers in a panel discussion to talk about the impact trans Atlantic emigration has had on Scotland and the Canadian First Nations Culture. The place of heritage tourism in our current economy and how modern genealogy has created better access to our heritage. We welcome back Dr Karly Kehoe of St Mary’s Univeristy, Dr Roger Lweis of Nova Scotia Museum and welcome for the first time Joanna Rogers PhD Student at the Univeristy of the Highlands and Islands and Dr Theresa MacKenzie of The McCulloch Heritage Centre in Pictou.
