Viking Pewter and Silver Casting

Jim Glazzard of Asgard Crafts will run workshops for Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust, demonstrating the process of ancient casting methods using pewter and silver. There will also be an opportunity in the workshop to create some of your own pewter Viking jewellery.

Demonstrations 10-10:30, 11-11:30, 12-12:30 and 1-1:30pm. Open to all.

Venue: The Plock, Kyle of Lochalsh

For workshops: cost is £20 per session and minimum age for participants on the workshop is 16 years old.

Jim Glazzard has several decades of experience in replicating archaeological artefacts of the Viking Age, sold under the company name, Asgard, which he co-founded in 2002.  Jim is currently engaged in a PhD research program, at the University of York, to understand the work and social context of the non-ferrous metalworkers of the Viking Age.
