Orkney Pottery: in touch with the past

talk by Chris & Dave Rendell

Seaforth Club Rooms, Station Square, Fortrose

Chris and Dave Rendell will describe how they constructed a variety of Neolithic type pots using experimental research into the making of prehistoric pottery. The project, which is based at Fursbreck Pottery, Harray, Orkney, is an active collaboration between archaeologists and potters and aims to come to some understanding of the processes involved in the manufacture and firing of prehistoric ceramics. There will be a display of pottery.

Organised by Fortrose and Rosemarkie Local History Group. Members £1; non-members £2The talk will be preceded by a brief AGM.
