RCAHMS - options appraisal meeting [Edinburgh]

08 February 2012, Starts: 10:00, Ends: 15:30

RCAHMS is the body of survey and record for the built and historic environment for Scotland and is responsible for one of Scotland's National Collections with archives of national and international importance. Their work represents a vital part of Scotland's cultural heritage. However, RCAHMS is a small public body and faces particular financial challenges moving forward because of its relatively high proportion of fixed costs.
Scottish Ministers have therefore requested that an options appraisal be undertaken to identify the best option to ensure the long term sustainability of the Commission's work and expertise against a background of reducing public expenditure.

The event will provide an opportunity for any organisation or individual with an interest in RCAHMS' work to provide evidence to the review process.

The event will be a participative, with a combination of presentation, group discussion and electronic voting on key issues associated with the review. Feedback from the workshop will inform the option appraisal process.
