The Finest Water Piece in Britain? The Moray Firth as a region of historical study.

Talk by Dr David Worthington, Centre for History, UHI Millennium Institute.

Dingwall Community Centre

Sponsored by Workers' Educational Association (WEA). To be followed by AGM of the WEA North Highland Association. Cost: £1 for talk. No need to book.

Join Dr David Worthington, Centre for History. UHI Millennium Institute looking at his exploration of the history of communities living around the Moray Firth. Dr Worthington hopes to bring current writing on regional histories into a Scottish context. The coastline and hinterland of the region has occasionally been the primary focus of historical study – (Iain Hustwick,1944 and in the forthcoming book by James Miller). However, David feels that further attempts to engage with the “charms” and the “dangers” of such a study are surely overdue.
