Featuring the incredible Carnoustie Hoard, 'Scotland’s First Warriors' is a unique exhibition which will take you on a 4000-year journey to explore the origins and impact of conflict in prehistoric Scotland. Join us before normal opening hours to explore this special exhibition with its curator, Dr Matthew Knight, along with a member of the exhibition’s design team.
Providing in-depth knowledge of the exhibition displays and behind-the-scenes insights, this tour will enable you to explore the first signs of organised conflict, from the Neolithic (late Stone Age) through the Bronze Age and Iron Age to the Romans, and to discover how the exhibition was created by its designers from concept to installation. Mapping this story through over 200 objects, Matthew Knight will consider key questions raised by the exhibition, such as how and why people fought, the impact on communities, and the legacy of prehistoric conflict.
