Description:

Not a free bus pass, but a sentence, often as an alternative for hanging. From 1800 to the 1850s over 100 Highland men - and women - were transported to Australia, for fraud, sheep-stealing, serious assault, noting and theft. Case studies from Caithness to Ardnamurchan will be presented.
