Scotland's Rural Past Final Conference [Birnam, Perthshire]

The final conference of the Scotland´s Rural Past project will take place on 18 & 19 June 2011
The 18th of June will be a day of talks held at Birnam Arts and Confernce Centre, featuring a keynote talk by Professor Richard Oram and a variety of short talks, poster session, project displays and slide shows. Susan Kruse of ARCH will give a talk on ´From flint scatters to farmsteads: Community Archaeology in the Highlands´, and we will also have a powerpoint and artwork display associated with the Living in the Past project.
Saturday evening there will be a champagne reception, conference dinner an ceilidh at Blair Castle, open to everyone, regardless of whether they attended the day conference.
On the Sunday, there is an option day of walks around Blair Athol. A trail of clues and intrigue will help you discover the rich archaeology of this area and learn more about the people who lived there. The walk is free, but places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
Costs are £10 for the conference
£25 for the conference dinner and dance
