Excavation dates Sunday 18th July to Sunday 8th August
As this is the final year of excavations led by Clyne Heritage Society, effort will be concentrated on the very badly eroding remains of the old late 16th/early 17th century salt works. At the tail end of last year, we were able to determine that much more of this possible salt pan survives than originally thought. Monitoring of the eroding walls has identified a possible collapsed furnace structure on the inside of the building.
