Dingwall Museum goes to... Dingwall!
Saturday 6th June 2026, 1000-1300
Dingwall Library @ the Academy
The Museum ran a series of outreach meetings last year, to the various villages and communities around Dingwall. But we didn't go to Dingwall! This meeting is our opportunity to do just that - bring the Museum to the people of Dingwall.
We'll bring a range of photos and objects with us. And we've developed a special display on Schools and Schooling. So, a lot to look at about Dingwall schools over the ages.
And... have you got anything you'd like to show us? Old photos? Or an old object that you've had in the family for years? Do bring it along with you.

Outlander Day at Highland Folk Museum
A relaxed and welcoming day celebrating all things Outlander
This is a real Outlander filming location. Scenes were filmed here, including the famous wool waulking, and the women who took part in filming will be joining us on the day. What you can expect
- live wool waulking with the women you saw on screen
- Outlander talks and behind-the-scenes stories
- Highland traditions and everyday skills from the past
- plenty of time to wander the historic township and soak up the atmosphere
As you walk through the buildings and lanes, it genuinely feels like stepping into the 18th century, the world Claire and Jamie lived in.
Dress up if you fancy. Have fun. Meet wonderful people who share a love of Outlander, history, and the Highlands.
Free event but donations on the gate are welcome
