The Scottish Community Heritage Alliance is holding a set of online discussion sessions, providing opportunites for people involved in local heritage to share concerns, successes and network.
While there are several key themes which have emerged from the roadshows, we want to have wide and open discussions. What do you think is the chief problem facing your group just now? Do you have any successes to share relating to these problems or in general? What do we need to address these problems (simply more money is not the answer)? Can you think of ways to collaborate with other groups in the future? What support can SCHA offer to help in the future?
18th September - Volunteering
30th September - Fundraising
9th October - Social Media & Marketing
28th October - Signposting Resources
6th November - General Discussion
To book, simply email scottishcommunityheritage@gmail.com, stating the session(s) you would like to attend.

Arts & Heritage Towards Climate Justice
Talk by Sue Jane Taylor
Organised by Timespan Museum, Helmsdale. Details and bookings from their website.
Artist Sue Jane Taylor has spent over three decades documenting the lives of offshore workers and the changing landscapes of the North Sea. In this talk, she will share how her artistic practice captures the human and environmental stories of oil, gas, and renewables. She will reflect on how art and heritage can help us understand the legacy of fossil fuels and imagine a fairer transition towards sustainable futures
Part of HERITALISE, a major Horizon Europe project exploring the future of digital heritage and rethinking the role of heritage in today’s digital challenges. While the consortium gathers in Helmsdale for three days of working sessions, on the 8th and 9th of October Timespan is hosting a free public programme of talks, a field visit to the Flow Country UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an evening of food and music. These events invite local communities and visitors to join the conversation and experience how heritage can be mobilised for truth-telling, climate justice, and collective imagination.
