Pathways into the Past: Surveying Your Heritage

Learn the practical survey techniques which will enable you to record the archaeological features in your area as part of the Pathways into the Past Project.
There will be 2 introductory sessions (5th, 12th May) at the Alness Heritage Centre, then a practical outdoors session over the week-end of 14th-15th May near Foulis Castle, Evanton. This will be followed by a third session indoors at the Heritage Centre (19th May) to look at the results.
Cost per indoor session: £2.50/£1.25 optional seniors/free for those on benefits
Cost for outdoor practical sessions: £5/£2.50 per day.
ALL WELCOME! No experience necessary.

Guided walk by Highland Council Rangers.
Visit the 'Soap Cave', enjoy the hidden coves of dazzling sand, and drift into the minds of the people of the clearances. Meet at Rhu Pier. Bring waterproofs and lunch. £5 / £3. This walk is their Grade C, requiring some hills-reasonable level of fitness.
