Unfortunately, they cannot provide financial assistance or subsistance costs for volunteers, but they do provide on-site training in archaeological techniques and the opportunity to work in a dramatic location on the island of Skye.

The Universities of Glasgow and Aberdeen's field school, the Strathearn Environs and Royal Forteviot (SERF) Project, is about to start its fifth season (August 2nd - 22nd 2010).
Forteviot, in Perthshire, is the site of a remarkable early prehistoric ceremonial complex as well as the focus of later Pictish cemetery. Each year new and fascinating archaeological discoveries are unearthed in and around Forteviot. The SERF team will be posting daily updates of our progress in the field:
