Previous Pathways into the Past courses looked at how to research and record historic routeways, both indoors and in the field. Working with others, the next step is to learn to pull it all together into a display and a report. New members welcome!

Pathways into the Past: Stepping into History.

Taking ancient routeways as a theme, these sessions offer an introduction to landscape archaeology for all those who want to research and record their local archaeology.

In addition to the indoor sessions, there will be an opportunity to follow part of the routeway on the ground, identifying and recording features along the way.

Workshop: Finding out about Your Past [Inverness] ...

ARCH will offer a taster session on Finding out about your Past at the WEA Adult Learning Taster Day, Culloden Library, either at 2-3pm or 3-4pm.

Description:
Interested in your local heritage, but don't know how to find out more? This taster session will introduce you to some of the sources, such as historic maps and aerial photographs, which will help you discover more about the archaeology of the Highlands. No previous experience needed.

The WEA Taster Days are an opportunity to try out archeology, basic computing, digital photography, foreign language or memory improvement. They are free and refreshments are available. Four Adult Learning Taster Days will be held in Inverness in September, and ARCH will offer two taster sessions at each event.
