Digging about in Wester Ross
27 July 2012
The diggers of Wester Ross have been busy! The photographs show volunteers at work at their last roundhouse investigation at Auchtercairn near Gairloch, where they revealed massive wall face boulders and, in the centre trench, an area of intense burning, but no signs of a habitation layer. Take a look at our events page for the details of their next dig and open day at Achiltibuie in August and at offer in Wester Ross. Details can also be found on the Wester Ross Wee Digs website, which also has accounts of all their digs so far.
There will be an exhibition of all that they've discovered in Gairloch museum from 22 Sept to end of October, after which it will travel to Ullapool and Achiltibuie.News Archive
