Talk by Dr Miles Mack

2012 marks the centenary of the report of the Highlands and Islands Medical Service Committee, the Dewar Report. Dr Miles Mack will share his research on this report, which became the model for the establishment of the National Health Service in Scotland. He will comment on the report and its relevance to Dingwall and the Ross Memorial Hospital.

Organised by Dingwall History Society. Membership £5/year. Non-members admission to talks: £1.50.

Pathways into the Past: Surveying Your Heritage

Mercat Centre, Milton

Thursdays, 27th Oct, 3rd and 10th November

6.30-9.00pm

and:

Saturday 5th November

10am-4pm

Learn the practical survey techniques which will enable you to record the archaeological features in your area as part of the Pathways into the Past Project.

There will be 2 introductory sessions (27th Oct ,3rd Nov ) at the Milton Mercat Centre, then a practical outdoors session over the week-end of 5th & 6th Nov. This will be followed by a third session indoors at the Mercat Centre (10th Nov) to look at the results.

Cost per indoor session: £2.50/free for those on benefits

Cost for outdoor practical sessions: £5/free for those on benefit.

ALL WELCOME! No experience necessary.
